Large and Highly technical industrial scaffolding project in East Lothian
The planning of this fantastic project progressed in early Q2 of 2024. There were several difficulties present which we had to overcome to be able to provide a safe workspace for the Apex Roofing Contracts team to work from. By working with Luddon Construction, Scottish Power and Apex we came up with a solution to cover the complex scaffolding requirements for this project.
AMF had to provide two staircases, a lined bin-shoot, and two walkways. To do this, a fully engineered design drawing had to be completed. A specialist company had to come to site to remove multiple windows so that the scaffold team could box-tied or install girder clamps to the vertical I-beams. The planning on this had to be exact so that all parties were ready to do their tasks when required, which ensured no lost time and efficiency of the project.
The main body of scaffolding was supported on sections of 750mm wide Aluminium beams which were fully laced and braced together and spreading the load through the horizontal beams of the lower roof.
This technical and challenging industrial scaffold was completed with no safety-related incidents and handed over within the time parameters set out by the client.
Safely managing and controlling this work is testament to how AMF Access Services complete their work scopes and we look forward to further supporting Apex roofing Contracts, Luddon Construction and SPen in the near future.
